You start this walk directly in Alpendorf, which is a part of St. Johann, situated 4 km outside of the center in direction to the valley of Großarl. You can park your car for free at the parking lot of the cable-car.

First you walk through the Alpendorf, passing the hotels, then you walk up along the road until you reach your destination “Gasthof Sternhof”. The higher you walk along this road, the less traffic you encounter, that is the reason why it is also ideal for a relaxing winter hike with delightful view over the Salzach valley. "Sternhof" can also be reached by car. The way back goes at the same way until your starting point in Alpendorf.
